Taking a break from printing our top seller The OG Buffalo King

What and Who Is Buffalo King?

I thought it would be a good idea to explain exactly what and who Buffalo King is so that you can better understand my motivation and why we choose to focus and drive this brand! So here goes nothing... My name is Brent Ketter, I am the founder and creator of Buffalo King. For as long as I can remember I have always had a creative edge to me. I can remember being in my elementary school library in 3rd grade fascinated with the "How to Draw" books. I would check them out and intently scan over the pages trying to master the image on the paper. I was hooked on drawing, and would doodle on every homework assignment from Elementary School to High School, through my time in the Marine Corps, throughout College and on in to my professional career. It has never stopped. To this day I draw on all my business notes and papers. I grew up in Kansas in a middle class working family, we didn't have a lot but we had all we needed. As with most families in the 80's we had our share of ups and downs! I would spend a lot of my free time at my grandparents house working side by side with my grandpa trimming hedges or picking vegetables from his garden while Willie Nelson or George Jones music was playing in the garage. My grandpa was a Korean War Veteran who earned the Bronze Star for his heroic acts while in Korea. He saw and experienced things that would haunt most people to this day, but you would never know it if you walked up to him. He was a cowboy in his heart and played guitar every chance he had until his hands wouldn't anymore. He had an affinity for horses and of course the mighty buffalo. I like to believe that the buffalo represented a piece of his childhood growing up on the farm in Kansas. He collected them and they were sporadically placed throughout his home and garage. To me the buffalo represents him. Native Kansan, Stead Fast, Firm and Unwavering. Never afraid to lead the herd but ok standing alone as well. He would joke over the years that he was the "King" of the Castle and that is where the second half of the name came from. The brand is truly an homage to the best man I ever knew.
